Confessions of a Middle Child by Trudi Trueit is about a girl named Julep O' Toole who is a middle child and is sharing what happens to her in her daily life. As you read through this book, you will notice that she is not as lucky as you can be. Julep has series of unfortunate events happening to her numerous times a day and through out the book what you will see is Julep trying to get around them by doing things that you would never expect out of her. As she tries these things, you will find that no matter what she does, she is always held back somehow. Either it was a possibility of losing a friend or letting her family down or even both. I feel that I can relate this somehow to what happened to me once. I also feel that this could happen in everyday life to anyone. I think I would recommend this book to my friend Kelley, where I think she can also relate to this book. If I could talk to the author, I would ask her why she chose this particular topic to write about. And if this had every happened to her. I think I am more like Julep’s best friend Bernadette than Julep. I feel that I would want julep as my friend because she seems to be adventuress and it would be fun hanging out with her. I think I would like to be harmony, julep’s older sister. I would want to be her for many reasons, one of them is because she has amazingly long hair, which I had always wanted and two, because she doesn’t seem to have as many problems as you would think she did.
